THE TAKEMUSU AIKIDO ASSOCIATION

An international group created by my very close friend and advisor, Dr Paolo Corallini, 7^th dan shihan Aikikai. He was also one of only two practitioners to directly receive these ranks from Saito Sensei. His focus, commitment, technical brilliance and spiritual alertness has been of enormous benefit to the Aikido community. I share his unswerving commitment to the myriad faces of the Aikido of the late Saito sensei.

Aikido is a very precious gift to the world.

This group honours 3 promises made by Paolo sensei to Saito sensei when Saito sensei was dying.

Firstly, to maintain the tradition of O’Sensei’s Aikido as taught by Saito sensei

Secondly, to remain close to the Ueshiba family and to the Aikikai. All our ranks are Aikikai registered.

Thirdly, to develop and spread Aikido as a friendship group, a fellowship and not an organisation.

Because Aikido within the UK requires registration with a governing body, we have created a body called Takemusu Aikido Association UK (TAAUK). This is an association of like minded dojo’s within the UK to give membership of the British Aikido Board. Any dojo who wishes to follow the pathway of the Takemusu Aikido Association is welcome to join us.
